So this was a whopper of a masterpost, but it’s unfinished. I want to expand it with more masterposts and sections, so send me links to your masterposts or ideas for other sections. Also, if you don’t want your masterpost here or the links are broken or anything is wrong please send me an ask or a message telling me. :)

What he wanted to concentrate on: Releasing the pent up energy in his body. He didn’t want to prove himself after all, just because he desires that, doesn’t mean people recognise him in the way he wants anyway. So he simply did what he wanted to do
Namjoon got rid of the name “mixtape” because there was no particular need to, because it’s popular to release tracks in the form of a playlist on Soundcloud recently, and also because each of the rappers released one each.He believes that people don’t listen to albums through anymore; the focus is on the leading track, and people pass over the B-sides, skits, intros, outros. We live in a life of ‘instants’, like instant food shoved in the microwave.
Rather than the simple catharsis one song brings, the catharsis that a playlist/album brings when listened to in order is so much larger. Only then can there be true recognition of it as an artwork. His dream therefore was to release a properly created album with a proper form. And from there, he wanted to write hooks well - and from there, wanted to create a good song. So he saw the forest before the trees. After that, to create a good album in its entirety.
Namjoon recorded the tracks in 2-3 days. It was done quickly, since he couldn’t record while overseas. Namjoon says he’s not going to say much about each track, especially any sort of analysis. What he hated most in school was analysis of poetry, understanding the poet’s context and reason for writing. After all, that might’ve not been the reason anyway.
TRACK 1: TOKYO It was already given to him with the title. The title was perfect already. Donghyuk wrote the song, a friend of his since 10th grade. It’s the first time they’ve worked together in this way; D as the producer, RM as the artist. D doesn’t usually have him listen to songs, but he did for this one. And Namjoon thought it was really good. D suggested that it would suit RM, and RM pounced on it. D said there needed to be whistling, and so they set up the recording in his studio. It added a dramatic effect. RM on Tokyo: “When you listen to it, it’s a lonely song. I mean, it is for me.”
TRACK 2: SEOUL RM wrote the lyrics in bits and pieces over a month. He began with the hook. The verse took a year. He kept searching for what he wanted to say, the words he wanted to use (2017 Summer). 2017 August: worked on it as a whole. Right before mono was released, he re-did it thrice. When Honne worked on it, they had to rerecord. It took a long time for him to find the right tone, a careless/thoughtless tone. It’s a song he holds very dear.
TRACK 3: MOONCHILD RM assumes we would link it to 4 o'clock, but in fact, work on Moonchild began first in 2017 February. Moonchild is for those who like the night more; for those who are unable to breathe in the daylight due to work or such. “People like me. I don’t put that much weight in the night [anymore]. But I made this song in a time where I believed the night set me free.“RM actually brought someone in to sing for Moonchild, but it’s the only track that failed in that regard. As a result, he ended up singing. With a laugh, he says that we might’ve been like “Why is he singing so much!” It wasn’t what he’d hoped for. He’d done the demo, and so thought he might as well. Verse 2 particularly took a long time; this too took around 2 years.
TRACK 4: BADBYE RM worked on this one from early 2017 too. He was really into the harp back then, but it’s changed a lot. eAeon was brought in from the beginning. RM says he was one of his hero when he was young. They met in a bar a year ago, but RM saw him recently to ask specifically for this song, saying “this song won’t work without you, it has to be you.” Thinks it as an important bridge for the later tracks of the playlist. He wants to say another thank you to eAeon hyung, for this song wouldn’t have worked without him. He’s sad that he couldn’t request him for a longer song.
TRACK 5: UHGOOD “This was supposed to be Reflection.” It’s a song that Bang PD and he both really like. It’s a heartbreaking song for him. The drums in the beginning were too bright, so he requested for another version. He did the recording all over for a calmer feeling. “I like the title so much, I really liked it. Rather than saying it’s pretty, it was appropriate. It holds a lot of emotion.”
TRACK 6: EVERYTHINGOES This is the track he wrote in the 3 days when he had to return from BV1 early [because he lost his passport] – not that it only took him that time. He says that these lyrics are the mantra (주문) that he wants to say to himself.Just the mixing took 6 hours and the producing over a month. RM wants to say a deep thank you to Nell since he worked on this track too - truly some of his heroes. He hopes that this song can be a comfort. Because sometimes, rather than emotional or logical words, a hug means more.
TRACK 7: FOREVER RAIN RM wondered how to use the word ‘rain’ that an artist is allowed just once. [He’s saying that it’s an oftenly used word.] It was made in a time when he was really obsessed with wanting to do everything for a track, from the beats, lyrics, everything. RM wonders “will there be a time I am able to write something that touches me?” He wants Forever Rain played at his funeral. He doesn’t think there can be a song that’s more him than this
Namjoon doesn’t know when he can have us hear his next project, but he’s already begun the 1st. He wanted to release something he’s not embarrassed of, unlike his mixtape RM. He wanted to make songs that people would remember a long time. He would like if there is even one song from the playlist that we remember in the winter. For there are certainly songs that we can’t forget, that are in our life’s playlist.
HUFFLEPUFF: candles flickering late at night; fluffy blankets and sleepy yawns; fireplaces cracking and popping; tying bows on presents for friends; old christmas music crackling on spinning vinyls; knitted scarves and mittens; cups of hot cocoa with caramel drizzles
RAVENCLAW: puffy coats and streetlights; soft piano music in a warm cafe; snow catching on eyelashes and cheekbones; berets and dark trousers; the sound of pages turning in an otherwise quiet library; watching hot breath curl into the winter air
SLYTHERIN: the smell of pine trees and mountain air; glittery eyeshadow and long, dark lashes; ice skating and unexpected blizzards; staying up late on christmas eve; black ink on christmas cards; icicles dangling from street signs
GRYFFINDOR: ornaments dangling from tree branches; apple pie and christmas parties; opening gifts on christmas day; fuzzy socks sliding on mahogany floors; candy canes and santa hats; waking up to see snow; the laughter of family and friends; windows aglow with golden light
So i went on a date to a haunted house and made friends with the girls behind us. As we’re going through, one of them is holding my hand and a guy leaps out and separates us. I panic as my date is pulling me along, I reach back for her and grab her hand in a group of three other performers and start getting out if there. After a bit I look back to check on her and I discover I’m holding the hand of a six foot tall zombie creature and not a 5'2" girl.
Cue the most terrifying realization of my life.
I had basically kidnapped this performer from his section and abandoned the girl and her friend behind us.
Yes, I screamed. My date thought it was Hilarious.
Yes, we found the girls. Turns out when I grabbed the performers hand, he grabbed theirs so our group wouldn’t be separated. So there was just this zombie in the middle of our group line for like fifty feet
Here are some easy changes that you can make to your life to lessen your environmental impact. One thing: some of these tips will not work for you, and that’s okay! I just want to encourage people to do what they can.
1. Use a refillable water bottle. Most commercially bottled water is the same as your tap water, but these companies often push the idea that tap water is inferior.
2. Bring your lunch.
Reusable containers
Bee wrap - can be made yourself, as well.
Canvas bags
This is a good article, but if the things here are out of your budget, check ebay. You might have to try different searches, because what you want might take some digging, but they’re there.
3. Eat less meat. I know being vegetarian isn’t for everyone, but restricting your meat-eating to certain days is still a good measure. At each trophic level, as little as 10% of the energy is transferred to the next level, so eating meat is not energy efficient. Additionally, cows produce a significant amount of green-house gasses, hog waste pollutes waters, and all animals take up land that could be used to grow crops.
4. Avoid single use items.
CARRY AROUND UTENSILS. Keep a reusable spork in your backpack so you don’t have to use plastic utensils. Don’t forget a bag to put your spork in after it’s dirty.
STOP USING STRAWS.
AVOID BUYING COFFEE. Though I’ve never used one of these, since I don’t drink coffee, you can use a reusable coffee cup when you go to stores; just ask if they’ll fill it for you.
BE AWARE OF YOUR NAPKIN USAGE. Or even carry a cloth napkin or handkerchief.
5. Use the front and back. Use both sides of notebook pages and save extra papers to put in a “scrap paper” folder.
6. Buy less. Borrow items that you need for a project instead of going out and buying a glue gun for the one time you’ll use it. Buy second-hand to upcycle items. Think before you buy something; would you buy it if it were 3x as much? Do you really need it?
7. Take the bus, bike, or walk. Maybe less convenient, but I love public transportation because I can do things other than drive.
8. Consider little swaps.
Bar soap and shampoo instead of bottled.
Online planner or planning on OneNote instead of using a physical planner.
Empty shoebox instead of new plastic container.
Reusable grocery bags instead of plastic.
Digitized notes instead of written on paper.
Reusable towels instead of paper towels.
Microwave cover (got mine for $2.50) instead of using plastic wrap.
9. Be aware of yourself. Think about what you are consuming, whether it be directly wasting water, or indirectly through buying something that took water, energy, and resources to make, shift, and house in the store you got it from.
Hello, people! The time has come: I will teach you the secret to study for three days and remember everything for your test. This is a hardcore studying session so I would recommend to only do it when you are truly freaking the fuck out. Now, I must tell you: It’s gonna involve some hard work, so sit comfortably because we’re about to start:
REMINDER: YOU DON’T NEED TO DO THIS IN A ROLL. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE DURING THE COURSE OF THE DAY.
REMINDER 2: REMEMBER TO EAT, DRINK WATER AND GET ENOUGH REST. YOU DON’T NEED TO FORGET ABOUT YOUR HEALTH IN ORDER TO GET BETTER GRADES.
DAY 1
First reading of your main textbook
Second reading + highlighting
Research more about the topic (internet, other books, talk to your friends, etc)
Resume everything (notes)
Do a mind map of main points
If what you’re studying needs something to be memorized “word by word” (such as: meanings, processes, references, chemical reactions, etc), write it down and put it on your wall. You’re gonna read it several times during the day.
Write down the topics and key words on a reference paper (you’re gonna take this paper everywhere, forcing your memory to expand from those simple key words)
Review your notes
Do ten exercises (questions)
Review your notes + exercises
Watch a video class
You’re done for today. Good job. Now rest, tomorrow is a new day.
DAY 2
Review your notes
Read them out loud
Read them again, but this time record yourself
Listen to it. Twice.
Review your notes before bed
DAY 3
Review your notes + listen to your recordings from yesterday
Do 30 exercises (questions)
Review notes + exercises
Listen to your recordings again
Review your notes one more time.
FANTASTIC JOB! Now it’s your time to rest. If you’re feeling like it, read your notes one more time before bed.
One more time, this is a heavy studying session, and not supposed to be done all the time. Remember to take care of your health and take several breaks during the day. If you don’t need, there is no need to do everything listed here.
So it’s Flu Season again, and this recipe for Tea To Fix What Ails You was given to me by a Christian friend, and I’ve taken to calling it JESUS TEA due to it’s miraculous properties. Even though it, technically, contains no tea. This tea is as caffinie-free as anything processed in a US plant can get, but be sure to check the provenance and all ingredients in case of allergies.
You will Need:
A Bigass Pot, becuase this is something you make in large quantities
working stovetop
those lil cloth sachets you use for wassail/empty teabags/those lil reuseable loose-leaf tea steepers.
Recipe:
about a quart of water
1 cup apple cider
about half a lemon’s worth of juice
a shitwhack of honey- try to get as local as possible and generally the less-processed the better if you want to build a resistance to local allergens. If you have allergy concerns or don’t like the taste of honey, go ahead and use more processed stuff/another sweetener instead.
three tablespoons/three bags chamomile tea
three tablespoons/three bags rooibos tea
teaspoon crushed cloves
1 cinnamon stick (more if you like it spicier)
¼ tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cayenne or white pepper
Bring water to a simmer in the pot. Add the chamomile, rooibos and spices to steep about 4-5 minutes or longer if you like tea-flavored tar which given you have the flu you probably do. Add Cider, Lemon Juice and Honey until dissolved. Drink all of this in the course of an hour to stay hydrated, make more pots as needed or until you pass out.
FOR MAXIMUM EFFECTIVENESS: gargle warm salt water first for as long as you can, it’ll break up the mucus in your throat and soothe the soreness.
This stuff is hecking delicious, and my dad claims it cured his cold. I’ve taken to drinking it just because it tastes good! Thank you for sharing! :D I also found that you can freeze this stuff in convenient single serving sizes, ready to be heated in the microwave when you don’t have enough spoons to make it fresh. Granted fresh is usually best for most food and drinks, but it’s still good.
I also calculated a single serving version, which I’m putting here in case anyone wants to make it that way:
1 cup hot water
¼ cup apple cider (or more, I prefer 1/3 cup)
1 tbsp honey (or more, to taste)
a dash of lemon juice
½ tsp spice mixture
1 ½ tbsp tea mixture
Mix the spices together in one container, and mix the two kinds of tea together in another. Measure out of these the above amounts. (Don’t try to store the two things together, the spices will sink to the bottom and you won’t get the right measurements.)
Use a tea infuser/tea bag/cheesecloth/whatever to keep the herb bits from floating off into your drink. Steep for the usual 4-5 minutes, then add the cider, honey, and lemon.
Side note: ground cloves is cheaper for me so I use ½ tsp of
that instead of 1 of whole. I also like cinnamon a lot so I use ¼ tsp
ground cinnamon instead of a stick (also sticks are really expensive here). If you use a stick, break it into
little pieces. The downside of ground cinnamon is that it
kind of congeals if you don’t stir it periodically, so keep a spoon
handy as you drink.
Since people have been asking for this (I guess the flu/common cold is going around agian), have it again, NOW WITH SINGLE SERVING SIZE, THANK YOU @snowfox102 for doing the math for me!
Is it possible to substitute the chamomile for something else?
Pretty much any herbal tea but mint will work? Rose hip’s good, or you can just double the rooibos. You can even put in black or green tea. I don’t becuase those both have caffiene and I want to be awake as little as possible when I’m sick.
What the absolute fuck is a shitwack of honey?
Once tea tarts cooling down* start adding honey. Keep adding honey. Your significant other or parents will notice and ask “Isn’t that enough honey?” “No.” You rasp, throat raw. “I need the magic bug juice too heal me.” “I think we should check your fever again.” they say. “When I’m fucking done.” You rasp, sounding like gollum with a four-packs-a-day habit. Eventually, there will be enough.
that, is a “Shitwhack”
*boiling honey gets rid of 90% of it’s goodness, so let the tea cool down to drinking temp before adding honey.
Just here to remind you to get your flu shot. And tea is not a substitution for antivirals if you do get the flu.
You are completely right! Jesus Tea will only help soothe your suffering, not prevent infection. Also Influenza is hella dangerous and DOES kill people, so get vaccinated for your safety and the safety of your immunocompromised friends!
The menthol in mint tastes REALLY weird with the other ingredients, that’s all. Like drinking OJ after brushing your teeth.
Some other repeat questions:
-If you don’t hvae acess to Cider, regular Apple Juice works just fine, just check the nutritional information to make sure it’s the 100% DV vitamin C stuff, we want you you feel better ASAP. If you like OJ, that can work too.
-Honey is in here specifically for it’s antibacterial and allergy-reliveing properties, and fruit-based honey substitutes will NOT give you the same benefits.
-If you can’t do honey for whatever reason, sub in your favorite non-sugar sweetener because Sugar/fructose/sucrose/agave will mess with the ability fo your throat cells to retain/release water and make your throat feel WAAAAAAY worse. Aspartame, Saccharin and Stevia won’t aggravate you throat much.
-If you can’t have chamomile, pretty much any Herbal Tea or Tisane will work, as will green tea. The exception is anything that contains St. John’s Wort, which interacts dangerously with pseudoephedrine andacetaminophen, whic are in basically every cold medication available without a perscription in the US.
-If you don’t want roobois, any dark and spicy kind of tea will work- rose hip, most black teas, etc.
-I tend to reccomend against anythign that has caffine becuase being concious with the flu is awful and you need to sleep as much as possible.
-If you don’t like any of the spices, feel free to sub them for something else! The point of those is to add a bit of heat/pepperiness to the tea to help unclog sinuses. If you’re a heat fiend like some of my friends, you can put sriracha in there if you want.
-THE SALT RINSE BEFOREHAND IS KEY. gargling with lukewarm saltwater or using a saline rinse will flush out congestion and help the Jesus Tea work it’s magic more effectively.
To Reiterate: Jesus Tea will only make you feel slightly less miserable and it not a substitute for medical care. Get vaccinated early and often, and if you develop a high fever or other medically worrisome symptoms, get to a healthcare professional ASAP.
I’m rebloging this solely for the measurements. A shitwhack of honey
It’s that time of Year again! Reblogging this long version with additonal NoteS:
Where I come from in the US, “Apple Cider” referes to the cloudy brown JUICE you can get in the fall, and is most reccomended because it tends to have the most Vitamin C and Trace minerals. Don’t drink alcohol while you are sick- your liver is already working overtime and alcohol can interact dangerously with cold meds.
GET VACCINATED ASAP!!! PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR FRIENDS!!!
If you are sick for more than 7 days or develop a fever over 100 degrees, please see a doctor immediately. Influenza is still a very dangerous virus.
